1 Killed in Violent 2-Car Crash on West Main Street in Norristown

Norristown, Pennsylvania (August 3, 2017) – A violent crash involving two vehicles was reported Thursday morning in Norristown.

The collision was reported at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3 on West Main Street near Forrest Avenue.

Area residents said they were woken up by the horrific crash of the two vehicles. When they went outside, they found a totaled SUV and a mangled sedan at the scene.

First responders used the Jaws of Life to extricate one person out of one of the cars. One victim was confirmed dead at the scene. An ambulance was requested to the scene, and another person was rushed to the hospital with unknown injuries. Some of the victims were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The crash prompted the closure of West Main Street between Hamilton Street and Forrest Avenue for several hours.
