Center City, Philadelphia (August 8, 2017) – A woman died in a hit-and-run incident early on Sunday in the 1300 block of Race Street.

53-year-old Ann Broderick, from the Kensington section of Philadelphia, was hit about 3:15 a.m. Sunday, August 6.  She was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police reports indicate that the driver sped off the scene after hitting the woman.

The police are searching for the driver of the car described as a late-model Jeep Rubicon with a spare tire mounted to the rear. It is also more likely that the car will also have front-end damage. Authorities are highly hopeful that surveillance video will lead them to the driver.

The police are appealing to anyone with information that might lead to the apprehension of the rogue driver to report to the authorities.
