Four Hospitalized after Middlesex Township Crash

Middlesex TWP, PA (July 31, 2017) – Four people and two dogs were involved in the crash in Middlesex  Township on Sunday evening.

45-year-old Robert Radwan, his wife Charlene Wellington-Radwan, 52, Kyle Wenzel, 21, all from Renfrew and 46-year-old Anthony Trapani from Middlesex Township were all hospitalized.

The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. Sunday, July 30, on the northbound side of Route 8 near Kilgallen Road.

The conditions of the people are not known while one dog was killed.

Radwan was driving his Ford F-150 Pickup around southbound on Route 8 near Kilgallen when he crossed over two lanes and T-boned a northbound 2016 Lexus, police said.

A Good Samaritan stopped at the scene and pulled Trapani out of sun roof of the Lexus, police said.

Wellington-Radwan was ejected from the truck while Wenzel managed to crawl out of the pickup.

A medical helicopter flew Wellington-Radwan to UPMC Presbyterian for serious injuries.

Ambulances took Trapani and Wenzel to UPMC Presbyterian.  Robert Radwan was taken to Allegheny Hospital.  The extent of their injuries was not known.

Costanza said that two Labradoodles were thrown from the pickup truck.  One dog died at the scene and the other dog was taken to a veterinary hospital in Ohio Township, Allegheny County.

All three occupants of the truck smelled of alcohol, said, investigators.  They found bottles of beer inside and the outside of the pick-up truck.

The police plan to obtain search warrants for both vehicles and medical records of both drivers and the passengers riding in both vehicles.
