Man Dead, 2 Injured in Car-SUV Crash on Vine Street Expressway

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (August 22, 2017) – A man was killed after his SUV crashed into another car early Sunday morning in Center City, Philadelphia.

According to the authorities, the collision took place around 5 a.m. August 20 on the eastbound lanes of Vine Street Expressway, near Broad and 8th Streets.

The man driving the SUV sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Hahnemann Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The 24-year-old driver of the other vehicle also sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the same hospital.

A 29-year-old woman was also brought to the hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She was a passenger in the SUV.
The collision caused a portion of -676 to be closed for almost three hours.
Police are still conducting an investigation into the collision.
