Man Killed in Two-Car Crash in Muhlenberg Township

Berks County, Pennsylvania (August 1, 2017) – A male driver was killed last Tuesday after he was ejected from his car in a car accident in Berks County.

The crash occurred at about 5:15 a.m. July 25, on Route 61, near Tuckerton Road, in Muhlenberg Township.

Two cars were heading north on Route 61, one in the left and one in the right. The cars bumpers touched at some point causing one of them to spin into the southbound lanes of Route 61. As a result, the car hit a southbound car throwing the driver off the spinning car. The driver died at the crash site.

The victim’s identity had not yet been released.

Route 61 was closed between Route 222 and Water Street, and Tuckerton Road between Reading Crest Boulevard and North Fifth Street Highway.

The crash remained under investigation by officials.
