Perry W. Bonasso, 57, of Coraopolis Identified as Victim of Indiana County Fiery 2-Tractor Crash on Route 22
Burell Township, Pennsylvania (August 2, 2017) – A Coraopolis man lost his life Tuesday after he was involved in a fiery 2-tractor collision in Burell Township, Indiana County.
The accident was reported at around 4:49 a.m. Tuesday, August 1 on Route 22 near Palmerton Road in Burell Township.
57-year-old Perry W. Bonasso of Coraopolis, Allegheny County was pronounced dead by a coroner at the scene. Bonasso was driving a tractor-trailer westbound when he hit the rear of another tractor-trailer, causing his vehicle to catch fire.
An initial autopsy indicated that Bonasso might have suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
The westbound lanes of the highway remained closed between Jessie Penrose Road and Palmerton Road through Tuesday following the crash.
