Truck Accident Caused by Driver Being Ran Off the Road

Close to Philadelphia yesterday, a two-vehicle accident led to a flatbed truck crashing into the side of a home. A video surveillance of the accident showed the truck slamming through a front porch and hitting a portion of the outside wall. The owner of the home was quoted as saying, “I thought a bomb blew up outside. As a matter of fact, I called 911 and said there was an explosion.” Officials say that the two vehicles involved in the accident collided and caused the flatbed truck to cross a large field and crash straight into the home. Luckily, the couple inside were at the back of the home when the crash occurred.

However, a passenger in one of the vehicles and the driver of the flatbed truck were injured and taken to the hospital. What if you were involved in an accident due to your avoidance of a first accident? Accidents not only serve as distractions on the roads, but also block roadways and sometimes cause accidents when a driver has to stop suddenly to avoid the condition.

Proving Liability

One of the best ways to compensate after these accidents is to figure out who ran you off the road. There have been cases where the driver of the other vehicle doesn’t even know that they caused another accident. This is why it is important for you to keep record of every aspect, from the color and make of the vehicle, to any identifying features of the driver if possible.

Many of these accidents lead to serious injuries because, when you have been ran off the road, you could hit a guardrail or many other objects, just as the man driving the truck did in the mentioned scenario. Swerving poses many risks because you never know what you’re going to hit when you’re traveling at high speeds. In many of these accidents, it is difficult to collect the information you need, so witnesses who watched the accident occur are your best bet when it comes to holding a driver liable and compensating for your injuries.

If another driver caused you to get into an accident and sustain injuries, you may have a claim. Call us as soon as possible to get started on your case at Edelstein Martin & Nelson. We can help you every step of the way. Give us a call today at 888-208-1810.
