A New York police officer was attacked by a man with a meat cleaver outside Penn Station in New York City on Thursday, multiple news outlets are reporting.
The suspect was shot by other NYPD officers, and the wounded officer was transported to Bellevue Hospital, NBC New York reported. His condition is not clear.
Witnesses crowded the Midtown Manhattan intersection and posted photos of the scene to social media.
