5-Vehicle Accident on I-476 Leaves Several Injured

Two people were injured in a five-vehicle accident that involved a tractor-trailer on I-476 southbound in Delaware County.

The accident occurred around 2:45 pm on April 10 close to Paper Mill Road. Two people were trapped in their vehicles but were extricated by rescue workers.

The collision occurred when a box truck collided with an SUV, forcing the SUV against a concrete barrier. Five people were injured but no fatalities were reported.

Southbound lanes from Exit 3 to Exit 5 were closed on the Blue Route for several hours.

According to police, one person was transported by air to the hospital and four others were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
