One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on PA Turnpike in Bensalem

A fatal multi-vehicle crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early this month left one man dead.

According to police, the 51-year-old was driving a Honda SUV that was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer around 3 am close to Bensalem on the westbound PA turnpike.

After the accident, both vehicles pulled off to the shoulder. The driver of the SUV exited his vehicle and was struck by another car on the highway.

The accident did not result in any other serious injuries, but all westbound lanes were shut down between the Willow Grove and Bensalem exits for almost seven hours.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

After an accident, it’s important to put safety first. Exiting a vehicle after an accident can be deadly, especially if you are disoriented. If you can’t move your vehicle after an accident on the highway, remain in the vehicle with your seat belt on and call 911. Never get out of your car on a roadway unless you feel your life is in imminent danger if you remain in the car.
