3 People Hurt in Wrong-Way Car Crash on Tuesday near Edinboro

Edinboro, PA (July 25, 17) – Three people were injured in an early morning car crash on Tuesday near Edinboro.

According to a police report, 24-year-old Ananta Olivero of Erie was driving north in the southbound lanes of the Interstate 79 at around 4:15 a.m. when he collided with a southbound car driven by a 55-year-old Joetta Garner of Ooltewah, Tennessee.

Reportedly, Garner swerved onto the right shoulder but was unable to avoid being struck by Olivero’s car.

Upon the impact, Garner’s car hit a guard rail, went over an embankment, and rolled over landing on its roof.

Meanwhile, Olivero’s vehicle spun several times in the lanes and came to a stop on the opposite road shoulder.

According to police, Garner and Jones suffered minor injuries and police has taken up the case and investigating in detail.

Garner and Olivero and a passenger in Garner’s car, identified as Laveta Jones, 43, of Montezuma, Georgia, were taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment. Garner and Jones sustained injuries described as minor. The extent of Olivero’s injuries was not immediately determined.
