33 Injured in Upper Darby High-Speed Train Crash in Delaware County

Delaware County, Pennsylvania (August 22, 2017) – Thirty-three people were injured in high-speed train crash in Upper Darby on Tuesday morning.
The tragic Upper Darby Traincrash happened at about 12:10 a.m. August 22, at the 69th Street Terminal.
According to Upper Darby Mayor, Thomas Micozzie, the train crashed into a stationary unoccupied car on its track injuring 33 people onboard the train.
Mayor Micozzie: “An inbound Norristown high-speed train came into the terminal and hit a stationed car.”
The train conductor was also injured in the crash.
At least four of the victims are in critical condition.
The Norristown High-Speed Line runs between the 69th Street Terminal and Norristown.
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) spokeswoman Heather Redfern says an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
