Reading Accident Takes Life (Saturday December 9, 2017) A Reading Accident takes life away from one of its injured victims just hours after the incident that occurred on Friday, December 8th.
The Reading Eagle, reporting on the accident said that Jack Churico, an 80 year old make passed away at Reading Hospital due to injuries to his abdomen and chest that resulted in a head-on collision with a sport utility vehicle. The accident happened just a few blocks away from Mr. Churico’s house as he was driving his pick-up truck down Cotton Street when it collided with the SUV. There was no information available pertaining to the driver of the SUV.
Emergency medical services were called to the accident scene just before 5 o’clock in the evening and found Mr. Churico unresponsive following the accident. He was pronounced dead after being transported to Reading Hospital by an attending physician just after 6:30 that evening.
Investigators arrived on the accident scene around 6 o’clock in the evening to reconstruct the accident. Cotton Street was shut down and marked with “crime scene” tapings from Rehr Street to South 15th while the scene was being studied. The investigation of the accident went on for about four hours. Specifics about the findings of investigators have not yet been made available.
