Somerton, Philadelphia (July 11, 2017) – Four people were injured, two critically,  early Sunday morning following a two-vehicle crash on Philmont Avenue in the Somerton section of Philadelphia, authorities said.

The incident took place at about 3 a.m. Sunday, July 9, in the 13500 block of Philmont Avenue.

Police said an SUV driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked truck injuring four people. The driver of the SUV and one passenger had to be extracted by firefighters. The two were transported to Aria Health Toressdale where they were listed in critical condition.

Two other passengers in the SUV were hospitalized in stable condition.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
