John M. Adams, 24, Struck by Car in Schuylkill County

Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania (July 30, 2017) –  A Northumberland County man was hit and injured in Schuylkill County on Wednesday afternoon, according to state police.

The incident took place at 2:54 p.m., July 26, along Route 61, just east of East Adamsdale Road, in North Manheim Township.

According to troopers, Seth J. Savitsky, 20, of Landingville, Schuylkill County, was southbound behind the wheel of a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee while John M. Adams, 24, of Mount Carmel, was standing along the west shoulder. He suddenly entered the roadway and was immediately hit by the Jeep.

Adams sustained unknown injuries and was airlifted by a medical helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Savitsky and his passenger identified as John Stiles, 30 from Minersville, were not hurt.

The crash remains under an investigation by authorities to determine the cause of the crash and the responsible party.
