Marietta, Pennsylvania (August 14, 2017) – A man was killed after four cars collided Saturday afternoon in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, according to County Coroner.

The fatal crash was reported at about 3:36 p.m. August 11, on River Road near Furnace Road in Marietta.

According to rescue crews, three vehicles and a trailer sustained damages in the crash.

Responders mentioned that one person was trapped and unconscious in one of the vehicles. Other EMS units were later requested to the crash site, as per scanner reports.

The identity of the victim was withheld by a County Coroner but confirmed the death on Saturday night.

Emergency crews extricated the victim at about 3:56 p.m.

Heavy traffic was experienced on Long Lane and Marietta Pike.

Authorities continued with an investigation into the incident to determine its cause and liability.
